About
Doom 3 (2004) slowed the series down and turned out the lights. You arrive at the Union Aerospace Corporation’s base on Mars just as a teleportation experiment tears it open, and the base becomes a haunted house of flickering lights, distorted voices and demons that strike from the shadows.
Its engine, with real-time lighting and shadows, was a showpiece of its time, and its slow-burn dread made it the most divisive, and most atmospheric, entry in the series.
