About
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is an action-adventure metroidvania developed by ArtPlay and NetEase and published by 505 Games, released on June 18, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, with Android, iOS and Google Stadia versions following later. It was directed by Koji Igarashi, the producer long associated with the Castlevania series, and was famously funded through a record-breaking crowdfunding campaign.
Players guide Miriam, a young woman marked by a curse that slowly turns her body to crystal, into a demon-filled castle where she absorbs the shards of fallen foes to gain new powers—and the strength to move deeper into the dark. The game is known as a spiritual successor to the classic Castlevania titles, praised for its exploration, combat and gothic atmosphere.
