The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition

A free, remade version of the multiplayer Zelda adventure, released in 2011 to mark the series' twenty-fifth anniversary, in which four green-clad heroes must cooperate to survive Vaati's Palace.

About

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition is a 2011 remake of the multiplayer Zelda game originally bundled with A Link to the Past. It was developed by Nintendo with Grezzo and released for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS on September 28, 2011, as a free download celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of the series.

Link is split into four, and only by standing together can the heroes cut through Vaati’s Palace. The adventure is built for cooperation, yet the same rupees that buy upgrades are shared and fought over, so every ally is also a rival. This edition added new single-player and multiplayer stages, and for a time it was offered to players at no cost, making it a rare and fondly remembered piece of Zelda history.
