The Hero of Legend must save Hyrule from the scheming wizard Agahnim — and from the darkness sealed behind him — in the Super Nintendo adventure that set the shape of Zelda for years to come.

About

A boy is called from his bed by a voice in the storm, and never comes home again. A cursed knight, a princess imprisoned, a wizard who whispers to the king: one by one, the pieces of a kingdom fall into the dark. And beneath it all, another world waits, a mirror of Hyrule gone gold and gray, where what was sealed is waking.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past was released on November 21, 1991, developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. A main entry in The Legend of Zelda series, it is an action-adventure game with role-playing elements, and it is remembered for sending its hero between a light world and a dark world, for the Master Sword he draws in the Lost Woods, and for the template it gave the series.
