Super Street Fighter II Turbo

Fists fly faster, blows land harder, and Akuma waits in the dark: Capcom's final Street Fighter II arcade update, the one that gave the series its Super Combo and its first hidden demon.

About

Super Street Fighter II Turbo is a fighting game developed and published by Capcom, released in arcades on February 23, 1994. It is the final arcade revision of Street Fighter II, the game that made two players stand at the same cabinet and settle things with a quarter each. This version quickened the pace, sharpened the balance, and added the Super Combo meter, letting fighters store power and unleash it in a single desperate strike.

Above all, it is remembered for the demon in the shadows. Akuma — Gouki in Japan — appears as a hidden opponent, a fighter so merciless he kills his own brother and murders the final boss in front of you. Home versions followed on 3DO, Commodore Amiga, MS-DOS, Dreamcast and Game Boy Advance, and the game remains a benchmark of the genre, endlessly ported and endlessly played.
