Faxanadu
The elves of Faxanadu have fallen on hard times, and only you can climb the World Tree and set things right in Hudson Soft's NES action role-playing game.
About
The elves of Faxanadu have barricaded themselves in their homes, the fountains have run dry, and strange creatures walk beneath the World Tree. Into that dying land comes one lone warrior, carrying what little gold the king’s dwarves could spare, to fight them out of it.
Hudson Soft developed and published the action role-playing game for the Nintendo Entertainment System on November 16, 1987, with Nintendo handling the release in North America. Faxanadu is known for its side-scrolling combat and platforming, its spellcasting and equipment shops, and the password system that kept players’ progress alive between sessions. It is a spin-off of the Dragon Slayer series, drawing its name and its world from that lineage.
