Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Two hunters, one whip, one spear, and a castle that wears many faces. Konami's Nintendo DS chapter in the Castlevania saga, released in 2006.
About
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin is an action-adventure game from the Metroidvania line of the Castlevania series, developed and published by Konami for the Nintendo DS on November 16, 2006. Players switch on the fly between two hunters — Jonathan Morris, heir to the legendary whip, and Charlotte Aulin, a spellcaster — whose paired abilities open paths through a castle that keeps shifting its shape.
Woven painted canvases hide entire worlds inside them, and it is through those portraits that Dracula’s latest servant spreads ruin across the land. The game is remembered for its dual-protagonist combat and cooperative play between two owners of the cartridge, and it stands alongside the other DS-era Castlevania titles as one of the series’ more inventive handheld entries.
