In 1994, Namco dragged the fighting game into three dimensions — and into the King of Iron Fist Tournament. Arcade and PlayStation iron, and the birth of a dynasty.

About

Tekken is a 3D fighting game developed and published by Namco, released in arcades on December 9, 1994 and later brought home to the PlayStation. It is the first entry in the Tekken series.

Built around the King of Iron Fist Tournament, the game set fighters against one another in three-dimensional arenas and helped establish polygonal 3D combat as the future of the genre. Its arcade success and its PlayStation port made Namco’s fighters a household name and launched one of gaming’s longest-running series.
