A cel-shaded Zelda adventure made for the Nintendo DS, in which a young hero sails a phantom sea and dives into a cursed temple that eats away at his life.

About

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is an action-adventure game developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo, released for the Nintendo DS on June 23, 2007. A main entry in The Legend of Zelda series, it follows the cel-shaded style of The Wind Waker and casts the player as a young hero who crosses the seas, pilots a steamboat, and charts his route by hand on the DS touchscreen.

Much of the game turns on the Temple of the Ocean King, a dungeon that drains the hero’s life as he descends it and must be revisited again and again with new powers in hand. Its touch-driven controls, its maps and puzzles made for the stylus, and the phantom guardians that stalk the temple halls are what the game is remembered for.
