Two journeys in one cartridge: a classic quest to save Hyrule, and a brave new adventure that could only be played by two.

About

Released in 2002 for the Game Boy Advance, this package carries two quests under one banner. The first is a port of the Super Nintendo tale in which a young hero races between two worlds to break a dark sorcerer’s hold on Hyrule. The second, Four Swords, was the first multiplayer Zelda: heroes split the legendary blade among them and delved into shrines built for cooperation and competition alike.

Nintendo R&D2 and Flagship, the studio behind the series’ story-driven handhelds, developed the release, with Nintendo publishing. A limited run of Four Swords later offered a stand-alone adventure. For many, this cartridge was the doorway back to an old kingdom and the first taste of a Zelda that friends had to share.
